So here's how everything got resolved: I decided that its not worth my time to try and convince someone who is set in his ways about what to do with his equipment. Friend is going to bring his gear out to an all-vinyl party or two, blow his speaker again, and realize that maybe he should have considered a second opinion.

I think it is best for me to keep my distance on this matter and maintain a good relationship than push the issue and start a fight. If someone is not going to book me because of some format bias, then so be it. I want to be booked for my mixing and my flow, not because I play or don't play on vinyl.

There will always be more gigs!
