- Give them something cool, what is going to attract people isn't your music nor your cool name because they haven't heard about it but if you look like this on the flyer:

People will be interested and again it doesn't need to be true, or just be partially true.

For example you can have a track in any of the hundred labels under the Armada umbrella, but chances that people know that label is 0 unless they're really into trance, however Armada music is one of the biggest Edm labels, hence people have heard about it at some point, so you are making it look better.

About hosting a successful show on a big radio station you can put it if you did a guestmix there, you got a track played... believe me i see a lot of people doing both things.

And when the promoter thinks that you are the best you'll get the gig, i usually say that i don't charge on the first one (just a few drinks + will) because this means zero disadvantages for them, worst thing is that you can empty the club with your shit music but after or your lies it's something that he can't imagine xD.

At the moment i have left the mainstream scene because i was having mediocre gigs of 500 ppl with no soul and playing shit music, i just play in some random places or raves but what i am going to do next term that i am at Milan is this:

- Fill a C.V with or your feats and achievements , if you doubt if something is impressive or not, just make it some impressive.

- Make some copies 20 for example

- Burn your best kinda commercial set in a cd.

- Add wicked crowd noises to it

- Make copies of it and attach it to your C.Vs

Society is ran by coercive wording... Its about 50/50 lie/truth, but the winning ratio is up to your ability to interpret it in certain ways, or present the information to someone who will interpret it by your own design.

Something where you go to it, and a nice trance peak is going, that i can probably make on fl studio, therefor allowing me to claim the right to that track, and further making some promoter assume i create epic music , even tho it will be a 30 second loop* Ill emphasize how the loop was created by myself. And say "look a sample of his latest track" and its nice and flashy with a slideshow of myself "in action". lol.

Im gonna photoshop my face onto some armin van buren photoshoots, when hes @ those events that are really crowded. ( nah thats crossing the line) but you get the point.

I figure, a pic like this would do for some easy editing. Since the face is quite small, and distorted.

Anyways, i think we can conlcude that if you want to get gigs, you need to stretch your importance far from reality in the eyes of the person who would book you, by making a REALLY epic website. With some good photoshop work.

I'm so hoping you are not being serious...

If you're good, you'll get gigs. If you're not, you won't. Marketing is an important part of it, but lying and cheating will only bite you in the ass.

Where i live, it's just a matter of networking and getting your name out there.

Overdoing it a little can work, but be careful not to go too far.

Be yourself, be nice, and i'm sure a lot of doors will open. Remember that promoters and club-owners also need someone they can trust and build a relationship with. Being an arrogant big-mouth son-of-a-b*tch will not add to that.

Some things that might help:

- Have a demo (make it good - really, really, REALLY good)
- Have references (where have you played before, if any)
- Be known around the club scene (if a lot of people know you, you're more likely to attract a crowd)
- Be honest
- Have a website of some sorts (Facebook, Myspace, whatever...)
- Have some business cards, and write your contact details on EVERYTHING you leave behind (no use handing over a demo if it only says 'DJ Blabla - demo')

Kindness is deceptive. If you have something of desire, people will treat you a lot nicer, it will be VERY f*** obvious, if your smart enough to notice, and if your not a moron, you'll realize that it isnt YOU they like. But your object of desire. They'll be kind, as a strategy against you to gain your trust, and when the right oppurtunity comes along... Undercut you. Fade you out. Than treat you like a worm. I watched a show, that showed all of these gorgeous women, who had a ton of male attention all of their lives and they were cocky as F*** and complete bitches.. and the one time they didn't wear makeup, no guys were paying attention to them, because , the guys liked their vanity , and not them. When they realized this they got butthurt and cried, they found out that they weren't actually cool, and their entire lives were reduced to a makeup cabinet. Just like when you have some kind of power for someone to vampiristically prey on., You better realize how people are.
