That word was hiding at the back of my brain but didn't come out. It sounds like a possibility, as I drink alcohol pretty much every day. However, my diet is good-ish. I don't eat much meat these days. Thanks though, I'll make some changes and see what happens.

Definitely not that. I've had plantar fascitis as well. This is probably the only foot, knee or leg-related condition I've not yet been afflicted with.
