But anyway, the thing is you really can't look at a Deadmau5 show like you would any other DJ. He's not a DJ, and the performance is not really set up like he is one. You guys should check out his new stage lighting/FX rig, it's pretty incredible.

I love Strobe no bullshit, I think it's a beautiful track. Also has sentimental value to me cuz the first time I heard it was also the first time I rolled.

And yeah his new light show is the fucking tits, I know a few people are going I'm sure they're gonna have a blast. They're gonna pound beers and head bag.

I remember seeing him for about 15 minutes at bal en blanc a few yrs back. Pascal I think you were even there. It was farty electro at like 6 or 7am. I almost puked.

I know some people that hate house music but like deadmau5. I guess there's something about his sound that makes it easy to like.

Some play 4 gigs in two days. In different locations. I remember looking at Deep Dish's tour schedule right after GU Moscow came out and being shocked at what they put themselves through.

Yeah you know how much bullshit he talks ?

The guy's bidding (to have him for a night) starts at 120k USD. Take 15% off for his manager you still have 102k ...let's assume that MAYBE 50% of that goes into expenses taxes labels and whatnot ...

Means he still cash 50k PER NIGHT. So in Mtl he'll do 200k in a week ... the guy is definetly not going to have me crying !

very puzzling phenomenon indeed but this guy exploded at the right time. With Youtube, FB, Twitter, Myspace even Google, his sound gets out there in an instant and is easily accessible.

Then you have that mousehead gimmick, in eye-catching red no less. Add with that his catchy moniker that gives him that cool, hip personna. As Marcus says, much of it today is about the branding.

And then we have the music: the catchy electro, the synths. Everyone is doing electro pop so his sound is easy to get and fits with the current mainstream sound today. He has that brostep wave (lol Freak) going for him, that whole electro trash wave that is being played in top 40 clubs and on radio stations all over, not to mention pushed by superstar producers and djs and played out by pop culture influencing agents like MTV. Any of you guys watch Jersey Shore?

All of those factors add up to his mass popularity. I even heard a reference to him on TSN... I mean who wants to hear that first thing in the morning in between sports scores??

As long as the electro wave is present and kids' appreciation of music is mired in catchy, shiny things with attitude, then sadly the deadhouse phenomenon is here to stay
