I wouldn't call this pseudo-psychology at all. He's simply stating that if I go around drunkenly insulting people on the forum, those people are going to start developing a grudge against me.

This guy is still pretty ignorant and over-enthusiastic, but his heart is in the right place: he's making the transition towards liking good trance and rejecting the shit stuff, and his confused ramblings are his way of processing that development of taste. I shouldn't have simply told him to shut the fuck up. The guy listens to what I say, he downloaded my last trance mix and by all accounts was exposed to a new sound as a result. If I alienate him, he's less likely to come round to my way of thinking, and so insulting him is counter-productive.
