I'll name one producer. Mike foyle who is one of those guys who has accused trance of sounding all the same.

In spite of this, why is it really a problem? The same sorts of sentiments have been said by nearly everyone about every sort of music, for quite a long time. This isn't a new trend, completely focused on trance. Some of these criticisms have merit while others are superficial. What legitimizes you starting a thread about it?

And honestly, it's Mr. Foyle's right to block you from his facebook - even if you're rashing him with favorable comments. I suspect you either don't know what a troll is or you're trolling, yourself; and I feel pity for you, if it's the former.

Mike foyle doesn't make "trance" he makes trouse. The fucked up version of trance. My point was, he is one of the producers picking on "Trance" sounding the same.

I do know what a troll is but he's the douche who couldn't take a construcive criticism which is what I posted on fanpage.

You are extremely childish. You were a confrontational dick to Mike Foyle in those Youtube comments and he made some perfectly reasonable comments justifying his music. He wasn't trolling you in the slightest. I think you need to learn some social skills. This entire thread seems like an angry reaction to Mike Foyle.

Also: why do you trance fans get so fucking angry about music? All of you, obsessed with your snobby purism, getting so incredibly angry and frustrated all the time. There is so much great music out there, why spend any time listening to or thinking about music you don't like? Music is supposed to be a positive force in your life. I seriously do not understand this anger.

From what it looks like, you started that whole exchange, and he even replied amicably at first.

Besides, Foyle is a talented producer, and "fart trance" or "trouce" are certainly not terms that are accurate in even the slightest way.

And you clearly don't know what trolling is. You were being a dick, it wasn't "constructive criticism." Just because he digitally bitch slapped you with actual logical and reasonable arguments and you were embarrassed online doesn't mean he was trolling you.

You seem, then, to suffer from an inability with appropriate on-line behavior. An artist's fanpage isn't a forum to air your grievances. I suppose you've been to sound-cloud and read the timed comments. On the public pages, I make it a point not to post anything critical but on private pages, when asked, I'll make notes about what a producer might be able to do better regarding a particular WIP. I, personally, don't mind negative feedback on my public sound-cloud but, as a matter of unilateral respect, I don't dole it out to others.

It's fairly simple etiquette that seems to be eluding you. If you have an issue with someone, you don't take it up with them on their public domain. You resolve it in private and, failing that, take it to another venue, such as you apparently did, here.

Regardless, you've yet to make a case that your grievance is much of a problem for anyone else and, when trying to frame it as such a problem, are engaging in somewhat telling hypocrisy.

The funny part is that Mike Foyle probably doesn't remember their exchange in the slightest, yet this clown is still bitter about it 7 months later.

I think that Statica track is quite decent. I can totally understand Foyle's point in that it's a layered track without dominant and obvious melodic motifs arranged in a simplistic pop polyphony. A number of elements combine to create an interesting atmosphere with a driving rhythmic core. Each part of the track is richly textured and well produced and no one element dominates the arrangement. This is generally a hallmark of what we would call "deep" music - you can focus on different aspects every time you listen, rewarding close listening and putting you in headspace.

I'm not saying this particular track is remarkably deep, but it's a much more interesting approach to writing music than Foyle's older tracks. So much modern trance is clogged with endless sequencer layers of reverb and hi-hats and pads, and yet the actual composition is very obvious and simplistic. All these layers don't enhance the atmosphere or give the track more depth, they're mere giganticism of very simple components, which is why modern trance so often sounds farcical, overblown and pretentious.

In pursuing this direction, Mike Foyle is actually getting a lot closer to the original ethos of trance music, and so I find it especially bizarre to lean back on those tired "roots of trance" snobby platitudes when bashing Foyle for changing his sound. Again, so many trance snobs do not have any fucking clue what they are actually talking about. You have no capacity to actually think about music and analyse why it creates certain effects. You just parrot the same hollow lines about the "roots of trance" as though that automatically adds credibility to your shallow and ill-thought-out opinions. Jesus Christ, throwing a fucking Youtube tantrum because you don't like the bass sound on a Mike Foyle track. Absolutely pathetic.
