table doesn't really come close to the legs. table stops at the keyboard. so the legs are under the keyboard. Well the knees. But that distance allows equilateral positioning with 2 big lcds. The lowered lcds allows the speakers to be on top so that you don't get a stereo image that is too wide. Basically, your monitors should be low and tilted. (lcds)
This was when I was at school. Pretty basic

this was sort of my setup in la. I started using vertical monitors because scores just fit better and i was orchestrating.

then in NY, realized i was having back issues, managed to get 24 inch vertical lcds to work.

my latest setup just uses horizontal monitors as I moved my orchestration composition setup to another room.

the only constant over the last decade are my genelecs. not great but once you know your speakers, it just makes things easier. And they were the old ones that were built like tanks .
