Maybe I am just self-absorbed. |
Or maybe the problem isn't your interpretation, but that - again - people just aren't personally aware?
For example, I was talking to this dude the other night and he asked how old I was. I told him, and in return asked his age. He told me he was 34, but looked downwards and away from me when he said it - indicating to me that he was ashamed of how old he was. So I called him on it and he was all like "NUH UH I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY AGE!" But then I pointed out what his non-verbal communication said and he was like "Well ok, maybe a little."
I'm generally an optimist about people, but really so many people have no congruence between what they say and what they project...and they truly have no idea.
I dunno, when shit doesn't add up I just call people on it, lol. I'm not usually wrong.
