that said, very good weapon for true analog kicks. But only for that and unison... without filter drive.

Damn I wish they come with an update soon, meanwhile I'm going back to my other monsters

Bass, mid bass, and sometimes pads, sometimes FX (rarely)... Predator.
Midbass, mid pads, FX *leads, pads* Jupiter 8v
Massive collection of Samples, PSP vintage, Ableton in-house..
Very happy producer 2 synths... sometimes use Sylenth, but 2 synths on lockdown is my thing at the moment.

yeah, i use the 8V and it has amazing effects, i almost never use the ableton chorus or effects when i deploy the 8V because the 8V effects are quite nice (but i never use its delay or reverb, that kind of thing). that said, i think just because the Sylenth doesn't have the same caliber of in-house effects, you can deploy your own effects on a dry Sylenth signal and get great results.

I've never bought into the Sylenth1 hype. I have it and it definitely sounds nice, but it has so many limitations that I don't think it lives up to all the hype. I may be in the minority here, but I really don't care for its interface either and I'm not a big fan of the way the arp is implemented.

What I hate most about it, though, has little to do with the synth itself. It's the people who will carry on and on about how bad Nexus is because "it's not a synth" and "you can't change its sounds", yet have no problem using unaltered Sylenth1 presets as the basis of all their productions.

I'm a firm believer that a true producer uses a little as necessary to accomplish the job*. It's truly the easiest way to separate the boys from the men. Exclude it from your synths, forget about it. Who gives a fuck? Honestly... a synth is a synth. What you guys are babbling about is the intuitiveness of the GUI, which in all honestly looks like shit. It looks like a noob tool. Use a confusing GUI like Jupiter 8v and get back to me on this one guys. Learn how to design sound, and stop asking about which synth to use. Put me on a fucking respirator.

had the Virus A desktop a looooong time ago, 1998 it was and I kept it until 2002 when I got the virus TDM. My best experience ever with a virtual analogue synth despite its limitations.

Back on topic, I found myself using ES2 more and more again lately, because of Sylenth1's limitations.

I have VSTSOUNDBANKS 1 and 2. Also Adam Van Baker Sylenth1 Soundset Part2 + Midi. I found these via this link http://www.lennardigital.com/modules/sylenth1/links.php Just check out the 3rd party soundset demos. It's always well worth the price to buy patches. Time is money.
