Quick diddy 'bout Tonic
Hi all, I've been going to trancEaddict for ages but never post for some reason.
First off, I better say thanks to Swamper for keeping this place going as strong as it has been. (I don't know if he'll read this, but cudos where cudos are do).
As for Oakenfold and Graham at Tonic, I got there REALLY late, around 10:30. The line was already to the entrance for the underground parking for the Paramount. My buddy and I wisely decided to "crease" the bouncer $10 each to get in.
I loved what they did with the lighting in Tonic that night... way better than their usual set ups. After chilling for a few minutes, I went to the back room. There's a part there that goes down a few stairs and usually has a pool a table in it, but that night, the pool table was gone and there was a whole bunch of couches. I talked to my friend who was bouncing that area, keeping people out, and he said it was VIP. He informed me tbat Nelly Furtado, Paul Oakenfold, Max Graham, Oakenfold's ladies, Graham's ladies, and the Chemical Brothers would all be chilling in there after Paul's set. I blew my top. But as an added bonus, he said for $20 a head, we're in there.
But while it's a fantastic story to tell, by the end of Paul's set I was so tired, and both my friend and I had to be up at 7:00 the next day so we took off. We figured: A) what the hell would we say to Paul and Max and Nelly anyways, and B) they really wouldn't care even if we did have something to say. The only logical explanation for chilling was just to say we did it, but the night was pricey enough as it was.
To bad I had to get up the next day. But it just goes to show that with a little confidence the saying holds true: money is everything.
Anyways, count me in for the Max Graham night at Turbo... Hopefully it's not as packed as Tonic was.
Peace,
Will
