Now that's an anti-poverty plan that has a chance of working!

Yeah, they aren't bums; they're outdoorsy.

Fuck that. Go down by east queen or westminster. There is no ruling demographic - I saw it all, black trannies, white war vets, young runaways, prossy grannies. Was like a fucking meth circus down there some days.

In my hood (hollywood) you get all sorts. Most are actually friendly, but I was in rite aid yesterday and one guy was following people getting out of their cars in to the store, then getting aggressive when they didn't give him anything.

I know what you guys mean about the fauxmless. I'll never forget feeling sorry for some punk girl in Camden town who forlornly asked for change. I felt bad and walked back to give her a quid. When i did, she took it, totally fake smile and put it with the other 40 or so quid she was hiding in her other hand and then just switched back to lonely little girl.

There's one in Beverly Hills who is always dressed in designer clothes but everyday, she's there begging with a cup. Apparently she has a flat, a car - it;s just her lifestyle. In fairness she's pretty nuts as a person, but she makes decent bank, probably more than most the people working in the boutiques there.
