Actually with the content of posts recently, it seems to be the main topic focus; Normie with his geographic penis analysis, Alfi and that bear thing(WTF?) and Richie...well cock/knob/tadger/spam javelin/ luncheon meat truncheon/etc always seem to be in there somewhere.

i have noticed that i can't be on the computer with lens it's hard for me to read never had problems with glasses but yeah if this happens to you is annoying, i usually spend at least 10 hours a day between computer/reading papers so the eye fatigue is high, i can't do this with lens it becomes worse.

You can add me to he list of old guys going blind and taking leave of heir concentration - but in my tale of woe it's pretty much expected. I have had Chrons Disease... from about 4-5 yrs old or so. Diagnosed at 13 and fed enough steroids (in an unsuccessful attempt to control it) to do some serious damage...which I am now experiencing.

Of course in my prior work writing/reporting, it was mostly staring at a monitor for 12-14 hours a day. In the Off-Road.com stuff it was a start-up company and you know the work that entails. In my case work all day, write all night sleep where you can find it. For several years. The newspaper wasn't a whole lot different in that whether reporting or page editing, there's a lot of staring at a monitor and late nights.

In a nutshell, combine with the eye strain with the things insane amounts of prednisone can do to your eyesight and brain function (for statrers), and well...you get me. Plus at 46 and the whole midlife change in the male body to begin with my concentration is something I really have to make a conscious effort to maintain. So I adopted the philosophy of bulling my way through it. I force myself to stay on task.

As for the eyes, well, just gotta keep changing glasses as I go. As for tips, get a huge monitor and make it easier for yourself to see.

We haZ an old Dave In past centuries it'd be time for us to take that walk out into the desert or up the mountain.

Actually kidding aside, trashed/lowered concentration is one of the classic signs low testosterone now that I think about it, so this too could quite literally be a matter of (or related to) penis.

I got graduated tri-focals about a year ago. I take them off when I'm reading in bed but other than that, I don't have many problems sitting for long periods of time, working on music. I notice that when I am having trouble with them, they usually need to be cleaned.

Most eye diseases can be treated unfortunately i think that the ones associated with age or fatigue can't.Life is cruel you know.

Some WWII eye sight trivia.

When the Brits first had radar and were able to locate enemy aircraft with ease, they tried to cover the technology by spreading misinformation including the fact that all their pilots ate sht loads of carrots.

One for about 1 metre focus and one for about 4 metre focus. When i walk around downtown, i usually take off my glasses and its like i'm blind and it is rather relaxing. What does suck is if i misplace them. I have had to call my girlfriend to come home and help me find them a few times. Now i have 3 redundancy sets placed in various locations. ALso, when i go out at night, i usually wear a set of frames minus the lens as i don't really want to see, i can take pictures and if i get drunk and loose them, well no real loss as i still have my actually glasses safe at home.

and i'm colour blind. So can i borrow your car ?

It's funny reading the comments earlier in response to my early years compared to you two. Honestly, it sounds like you two have overcome far bigger challenges than I've ever had to face.

As for me, I think you guys have answered my question. Sounds like it's not uncommon for the eye strain to have the effects I'm going through. I'm sure that there are many other factors (e.g., my irregular sleep habits) at play, too.

True that.

It's actually has some tiny sliver of truth, in that Carrots contain beta carotene which is digested in to vitamin A which is essential for good eyesight.

I have always looked at it like this. It may not be either PC or profound, but it is what it is....

"Shit happens. I (you/we etc.) didn't ask for it, but what real choice do we have? REALLY?"

The fact you drew breath beyond the 70s is a miracle in itself. Same here really. And L4C has/had a different but no less serious issue himself to deal with. People die all the time. No one gets out of life alive and other cliched sayings... But it really does come down to making the best of the cards we're dealt, or saying to hell with it. Pretty safe bet though that anyone on this board is still playing poker and doesn't plan on folding. If we have time/motivation to talk crap on the net, then health issues aside, we're doin' OK overall

Read about this from a text by a dude named nicholas carr.

I am 19 and find it hard to focus so I doubt age is relevant.

tl;dr

well technically, it doesn't make your eyes better, just worse if you don't have it ie night blindness with POWs.
