I do software dev/qa across all OS' and find this hard to believe. There are a lot of little tricks that can be learned on win7 that can make it infinitely easier to use. WinXP is atrocious compared to win7 when browsing folders and subdirectories. Application launch times are also 25-50% slower. Also the inability to access more than 3.7 gb ram means alot more page file writing (slow). Even if you have 64bit XP, its buggy as hell.
For the average user i guess there is something to be said about familiarity.. in which case XP might seem quicker since you're more familiar with it, but i can guarantee you that it isnt quicker in anyway. |
All valid points. And you're right about the speed thing but at home when relaxing I don't care about something take 2 seconds instead of 3 to open. End of the day, to each their own it's just my personal preference.

Relax bud. I'm speaking as a consumer, with a consumer level of intelligence, talking about things they've delivered at the consumer level. Never said I know all the ins and outs of the company I just prefer the business methods of their competitors. Eg look at the difference between XP and W7 from a consumer standpoint. Different yes but 8 years should produce a lot more change than that. Look what Apple or Google does in a few years, much more significant purely imo.
