Well i'm not totally sure, i think the ones i have are the same model as those silver ones but the silver one is probably a later more updated version...

And yes, i did buy them purple

I got a pair of Sennheiser HD280 Pro's after reading the headphones thread in the DJ Booth forum. For $250 i'm pretty happy and they do have gold plated plugs. I have big ears and they were one of the only ones that could cover them without pinching...have yet to run them through their paces though.

I mean, this headphone is big and beautiful. Before I bought them I didn't understand what the fuss is all about this set. PvD, Tiesto, Johan Gielen, and Picotto all use this set, but once I had my hand on it, couldn't turn back. Because I have large ear so I need headphone with a large earcup and the Sony fits me perfectly. Had them for $279 after about 20 mins of bargaining


HD-25 is brilliant too but the earcup was a little small for me.

thats funny, my friend has the HD-25's and his jack isnt gold plated.. hmm... Wierd.
