It's a great synth, but it won't make a blind bit of difference if you have no talent despite the product placement level of adoration in all the how to videos.

And anyway, it should be called a Pi, not a Ti

i can't really think of any synth that has all the features packed into one unit that also can be used as a plugin. It really stands alone in that regard,

But OS 3.14 is a legacy product now.

How about any one of a dozen VST plugins and a MIDI controller keyboard? Make is USB2 with the ability to open up even 4 multi timbral instances and i'd be a lot happier. Even the Powercore was doing that several years ago iirc.

Pi for partial integration

well i prefer that. I find synths take up real estate, But given all the synths, the virus is probably the one that you should get first if you want to use hardware and fancy that.
The price of a virus B hasn't changed in about 8 years.

ive been on the look out

one went for 600 the other day (mint) was gutted to miss it.

ive got to say i do like the virus. it wasnt as good imo when i was trying to make dark dnb - but for trance its seems its fantastic

the problem i have is if i make a sound in a soft synth like sylenth, then make the same sound in the virus it just sounds better!

with a snow you run out of voices quick though

Well i've had about 30 hardware synths in the last 25 years so it wouldn't be first

I had a Virus Ti last year as well, just didn't really need it and did need some new monitors so off it went. This time round i'll get a Ti desktop and a Nord Rack 2x as well, just because I like them and it's the best programming UI ever made.

I was gonna get a P08 as well, but that'll probably just sit there looking cool.

I can't say I ever thought the Virus sounded better, just different. Saying that it can do more than Sylenth, but not necessarily more than any other relatively complex VST plugin.

ALways nice to get a second opinion, especially from someone who obviously knows saylenth very well (nice sounds on your SC)

I need to explore it more - the only soft synth i know inside out is massive so time to get better acquainted with sylenth - nice thing about it is its simplicity as you say

Looks like i secured a virus desktop today for £750 have to pick it up on sat, really looking forward to more voices as realistically the snow only provides 2 or 3 parts if your using unison etc. Im really loving the virus sound atm - nice smooth oscillators etc

Thanks for the kind words

I think it's more important to know what you have inside out than 'own' several dozen plugins.

Massive is one of those synths I really want to get to know properly. What a monster.

okay so I've been looking at cheap midi keyboards and have been considering the cme m-key v2, you can get one for around $100. It's basically exactly what I'm looking for. Sadly the reviews have been mostly bad, and in these demo videos you can hear how loud the keys are, :/ talk about distracting

I love necro threads cuz I get to laugh at my old jokes again. And, that one was pretty hilarious....no, really.

@meriter - don't do it. Don't be another one of those guys who has to write a review saying that you read how bad the reviews were, but bought one anyway, and now regret it. The general consensus is that CME products should be avoided at all costs.
