There are quite a few interesting things going on in electronic music at the moment. If it's not your thing and you want to live in the past until you die, I understand that; just know saying "ALL NEW MUSIC IS SHIT" makes you sound like a complete idiot.

I hear music comes in cubes nowadays.

You should be a little more specific. In regards to Trance I can relate, it has become so bad that ive ceased all effort to continue searching for new releases (well, ever since 2010), however theres still some pretty good stuff coming out of the joof label. If its Trance youre talking about, Discogs is a great tool for finding all the old school stuff. Genres like Deep House/Techno seem to have made a serious comeback in terms of quality tracks. I spend about 3 hours a day tediously sifting through universal sized online shops for samples but the goodies that end up in my hand truly makes my week. Sure technology opens a wider gate for pretentious drones to flood the the internet with forgettable crap but as long as composing music continues to live as an artform, there will always be a small portion of genuine artists creating genuine music, you just need to motivate yourself to find the treasure.
