I disagree with the antagonism. Her mother is fast-tracking her in a way, she probably doesnt know what the fuck is going on now, but in a few years she will have life made. They are focusing on the possible negatives, and thats surely not the way to live life, even though life can is easily over-cautious; which is fine.
