Not to blow my own dick, but I probably have more success in EDM than anyone who has posted here thus far. I'm still shit, but shit among less than shit, feel free to prove me wrong and sorry if I've insulted anyone.

Given that, here's a few tips that have helped me:

1) Never stop a particular aspect of a track until you are 100% satisfied with it. I can't tell you how many times I've spent days on 20 seconds of music. 90% of the time I hear some POS track from a nub, the first thing I ask is "how much time did you spend on this?". Most great tracks take one to two months of near daily work, every professional who's studio habits I know about agrees.

2) This is EDM, right? It's meant for a "club", right? When you are listening to your track, turn up your speakers, turn off the lights, close your eyes and just listen. Would you be pissed off if you heard this track come on at a "club"? Or would you totally freak the fuck out and love it? That's something that Sean Tyas told me a long time ago, he makes music for a club, not for his computer speakers.

3) I read "less is more" and that is true not only with the amount of tracks in the mix, but also with the effects. Turn down the delay/reverb, you may like how tight it makes your mix.

i wouldn't say shit, but when you talk like that, i mean, have you heard yourself ? Perhaps tongue and cheak, I would say Seandroid is about as good as you. And i even tried to find recent stuff, but you seem to stop existing after 2009. So all in all, you kinda sound like a douche.

Do you have a recent track?

Don't know who Seandroid is, sorry, I haven't been keeping up with the TA forums. Feel free to prove me wrong, just saying that I feel I can give a few useful pointers, is all. I didn't hesitate to call myself "shit" as well. We're all awful, that's why we waste time on forums and not spend it touring the world playing our awesome tracks.

you sound a little bitter. Your failures are your own. I can name 5 people right now that are legends in the music industry, not just EDM, that post on message boards. In fact most successful people are so busy, that is all they have time for. I make a good living, i manage to post. Projecting your sense of what is possible unto others is kinda pathetic. I mean here you are posting on a message board. Joel posts here, more than you know are lurkers.

Do yourself a favour, and make an alt if you want to roll in the mud.

class act. I suppose in hindsight , you are so unknown that using an alt is not really needed. Iguess i was giving you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you might want to put the stupid shit you say under a non de plum in the event that you have a career. My bad.

Precisely. Not sure why you would think otherwise.

because you stated you were more successful than everyone that posted. I posted earlier on. I assumed you had a career. You don't. And from what i've heard from this place in the last year, well i would say you aren't the worst by any means, but there are many that have progressed much more. Your 2009 work to now shows no progress what so ever. So i would say , your notion that everyone here sucks is not so true.

Also, when someone like me finds that you are kinda an egotistical douche, there is something wrong. I mean i wouldn't agree with them but i can see how people would say that about me. Now when i find that you are that, well , its like Palin telling her kid to stop being such a fucking dumbass. When you have an idiot calling someone else an idiot, i mean that is not addition, that is an exponential idiocy. Just a reality check i guess.

Well, I apologize. I simply meant to put forth the notion that my ePenis is larger than the ePeni (ePenis plural) of all those who have posted BA (that's "Before Alanzo"). Those who have posted BA can feel free to challenge my ePenis, as I have noted with the following quote "feel free to prove me wrong".

I only wanted to put forth the mastodonic size of my ePenis before lesser ePeni in order to let you know who's your daddy and that you are all my bitches.

And, yes, I am an egotistical douche. Thank you for noticing. Given this post and the fact that I feel the need to preface all posts prior to mine as "BA", I would also say I'm a narcissist.

Also note that I have edited this post. I'm not nearly as clever the first time as I am the fifth time. Fuck.

OK so we managed to get a little more tips and advice here in the thread but there was shit thrown everywhere. Hey L4C, should I just quit producing now so my heart isn't broken later? What's the deal? I haven't been ripped on by you in a while.
