I was in work at the time and heared what had happened on the radio so I went to the tv and saw the sights that I will never forget. On the way home I could see other people had heared the news by the expressions on thier face. However when I was walking past a certian school a large group of pakis were cheering and punching the air. This was greeted by tooting of car horns from other passing pakis. As I was on my own there was little I could do as I was out numbered. In the following days posters saying that the holy war had begun started to appear and leaflets were handed out supporting bin laden were giving out calling on all supporters of him to asemble down Slough high the following saturday. As word spread people who wanted to express thier views and thoughts to the Bin laden scum orginised our own march in which over 200 people took part and sucsefully manged to stop thier march untill they were backed up with riot police hoses and riot vans. That certian school refused to have the national 3 minute scilence to reflect it's multicutral policey.
Only last sunday these scum were allowen to hold an even bigger march in our capital city at tragfalger square on nelsons coloum. I went to oppose that one and the lead speaker siad that britian would be attacked , all muslims have somthing in common with the taliban among many other things that I car'nt be bothered to type right now.

i remember that i woke up and my mom had left a message on my phone, in a somber voice saying "if you dont know already, turn on the tv... a plane crashed into the WTC"
i didnt really realize the impact of that statement till i turned on the tv.. i thought a plane had accidentally somehow flown into the building.. not that it had been done intentionally.. twice.
and a comment to people who will do america bashing in this thread too
on another board i post on, someone resurrected the WTC thread from a year ago for thoughts and opinions. someone brought up that maybe americans should think about other places in the world instead, something to that nature. someone else responded, and i really liked how she put it, so im going to post it here:
| quote: | | the only thing im going to mourn on sept 11 2002 is the loss of so many innocent lives that were taken away for no reason. it has nothing to do with politics, nothing to do with other countries, or my country anyways...it has to do with millions of people having thier heart broken, while watching the 2 towers fall on global television. of course, its just as sad to see the war going on in the middle east, and children starving in africa. mourning has nothing to do with competition! if your mother died, and you mourned her 1 year anniversary, are you going to be thinking about mourning something else on that day? well i dunno about you, but i sure as hell wouldnt. sept 11 2001 changed our nation, and it is a day to look back on and remember, whether you like it or not. |
