I know it's always been different in the UK, but I don't recall Trance- of any variety- ever having entered the American mainstream, much less to the tune of an expiration date.

There was never an explosion here 10 years ago. Dance music was extremely popular here from 1988 onwards and that didn't abate across the '90s.
