Yep, listened a few more times, and I'm liking them more and more.

Good stuff, like the sorta How To Dress Well feel on Hiders, those poppier hooks/drums.

I honestly really like Rival Dealer, nice slice of that jungle-esque thing that's been going around this year. Was the sample you listened to really shit, Jack?

Yeah actually, the Youtube vid sounds a lot better. The Hyperdub clip is just horrendously low quality. Still not sold on it though - I'm not sure his crackle shtick really works when the music starts getting busy and maximalist. Second and third one sound like Burial-goes-chillwave. Bleh. In a post-DjRUM world he suddenly doesn't sound so essential.

Hehe, yeah I can see that. Burial puts out material so slowly that I'm usually way into whatever happens. I'm actually a bigger fan of this than his last release, Truant/Rough Sleeper, which came out around the same time last year, right?

Ok, listening to the full clips it does sound a lot better. Still dislike Rival Dealer. Hiders is pretty much Burial making a Christmas song, kind of fun if you take it for what it is. Come Down To Us is just fucking bizarre. The transgender-monologue at the end is the most normal thing about that track.

Also lol at Burial calling these 'anti-bullying-tunes'.

After having given them all a proper listen, the only part I dislike is the last part of "Come Down To Us". Before the monologue at the end.

And is it me, or did he slightly muffle the bit where "she" says "transgendered"?
I keep hearing "transcendent", which fits with the "other worlds" and "rooms" parts of the sample.

Yes. RA comments are usually pretty boring (good release! / shit release!) but once in a while there's a glorious shitstorm over something really stupid.
