Are you not a fan of Burial's music, SRUSSELL? Please, tell us your opinion on the subject at great length.
I appreciate Burial's music. I just think it's funny the amount of praise he gets on this site, when someone like Nico Jaar gets lambasted for everything he does. I mean this guy literally makes his tracks sound like they were made 30 years ago. If you want to talk about hipsters or relentless scenesters, you want to talk about the people who think Burial is the second coming of Christ.

Old Skream was glorious.
Burial is like Basic Channel (yes, I went there). He pretty much invented a new sound all by himself and no one of the hundreds of imitators comes close. Meanwhile, Nico Jaar is "boring, watered-down trip-hop from the '90s with an Ableton twist." (thanks to Dope Jams for that blurp)
his sound is old because he is still running a cracked copy of fl studio 3. (not joking)

Have you guys heard some of the stuff Skrillex made solo in the 2000's? It's fucking ATROCIOUS. I heard some supposed insider guy talk about how his first EP was written by a bunch of different producers, which makes sense but doesn't explain all the other shit he's done. Either that or this guy somehow upped his production level from trash to top notch within 3-4 years.
