it runs on any computer. You don't need a sound interface either as it remains 1s and 0s

I'm running a 2012 2.6 Mini w/ 16 gb ram, 512 ssd os/software drive, 256 ssd audio drive, and external usb 3.0/firewire hdd for samples.

Running Logic 9 with 50+ tracks so far with no cpu and latency issues. I've got a range of stuff going like omnisphere, absynth, exs 24, etc. many with multiple effects on each track.

I haven't really taxed the computer yet, but so far so good.

Computer boots up in under 10 seconds, as does logic. Everything is really snappy.

As for the monitor situation, I run a monitor out the hdmi. You can also choose to run a second monitor using the thunderbolt port or there are usb 3.0 to dvi/hdmi converters out there. I hear the quality using the usb 3.0 converters is not as good although I personally have no experience with it.

It can run a bit warm after 5-6 straight hours, but it never gets hot. I was in between a new imac or new mac mini, but went with mini because of expand ability and personal customization.
