Whats the point in associating the mix with a dj name? I guess to help sales

I thought they were actually mixed since they have the dj names on them. I reckon puter mixing is stupid. I'd much rather the dj actually mixing it, whether its live, or in a studio. But doing it on computer is cheating i reckon. :/

its because the cd is like a representation of what the dj played in that place? ie paul oakenfold in new york GU would be pretty much what he played in a set at new york one night and they decided to base a cd off it. i think thats how it goes. but people say the last dave seaman one is completely different to what he played or something. i dunno. im not an expert

The idea of Global Underground isn't just a mixcd. The DJ ie: Dave Seaman in Melbourne, goes to the city and plays a 4-6 hour set at a club. The entire set is recorded, then taken into the studio and the DJ chooses the tracks that he thinks would best represent the set. It's a pretty cool idea, although it's getting a little old having the same DJ's. Thats why they're mixing it up a little and have James Lavelle in for 023

Yeh I love the GU idea and the CDs are soooo good! I'm still to get 021 which i have been wanting for like AGES. And all the GUs are so relaxing! So well put together. They just fit perfectly. Nice change from the usuall Gatecrasher, Oakey, PVD CDs I buy.
