I've got some friends here that use an interesting approach. They each put in 40k. What they do is buy blue chip stocks, set a limit to sell at a certain price if it goes up, or dump if it loses a certain amount. They bough a subscription to watch this guy talk about stocks all day, and essentially stay up most of the night doing this. They aren't getting rich, but they are making money every week. There is an occasional loss, but nothing really major.
Silver is huge right now here. I've bought a bit. Order it online, pick it up at the warehouse, chuck it in a safety deposit box in Hong Kong when i make a trek there. It makes it harder to sell this way, but you save a ton on the "storage" fee that the seller charges if you so choose to keep the silver with them. Its a good way to save money that you can't touch in this country. It eliminates my urge to buy everything that I see.
