His remixes of Age of Love and Bring My Family Back are still my favourite ones.

Very interesting. If the producers of today used more out of the box sounds and chimes like in this track, I'd prob would have continued following trance. Shame.

find it all culminated to this and then fizzled. The most memorable, the best produced, and the track that will be remembered. It pretty much encapsulates his growth as a producer. And i can't think of anything he did afterwords that comes close.

not sure why it isn't mentioned. Too mainstream ?

Would have liked to have seen more stripped down versions of PVD tracks like this. Not his best but it's the first track I heard from him.

you could say for an angel is "too mainstream", but in reality, it's just been hammered to death. most people are sick of it.

also, i just don't think it's one of his best tunes, it's all rather uninspired. that's not to say i don't like it, it's just not in the same class of some of his other, more album-orientated stuff. it's overtly cheesy, and those type of tracks tend to grind you after a while.

For me, I love for an angel, but not the damn e werk club mix that gets pumped but the original 45rpm mix.

that is real trance to me: melodic but weird and not natural in a way that actually puts you in a state of trance. it literally sounds like someone playing with an out of tune guitar string. and suddenly those familiar synth melodies come to fruition. that original mix will forever be the un official song of the love parade as far as im concerned.

i found the resonance on the bass just sounded weird loud. I do prefer dryer productions but the bass and kick in the other version just carry the tune.

For those interested, here is PVDs EM from Home in London 4-23-2000. This isnt his best set IMO but its a live set that has serious firepower and the energy of the crowd is insane. You can hear them going nuts multiple times during the set actually. The mixing is also phenomenal for being done on vinyl live.

Here is the gallery turnmills one he did with pete tong.

Its also a stormer and has some pretty famous tracks on it. I prefer the home at london one bc the gallery ones he plays some tracks ive heard so many times that I think even i am sick of hearing them.
