Ok, here it is.
Buzz wasn't shut down. They shut themselves down. Rather than lose their liscence Nation and Buzzlife decided that they should shut down on their own, kind of like they did a few years ago when Fox 5 featured them on TV. 4 to 6 weeks later Buzz reopened under the name "Sting" soon that became "Buz" and then it became "Buzz" again. So we're not looking at something completely bad. Buzzlife decided to shut itself down because once you lose your liscence the government won't be willing to give it back so easily. Nation has a lot to lose if Buzz caused it to lose its lisence. The feds didn't shut down Buzz, if they did, Buzz would be gone in DC forever. Buzz shutdown itself so the Feds couldn't.
Hopefully they'll be able to come back soon but for now they're not moving to Baltimore. John Tab sent out an email specifically saying that they're not moving to Baltimore.
i'm not saying all this because i'm happy with it. i'm just saying it because it makes sense. even though it really hurts our scene it kind of shows how much we have to work to get our scene to survive. and for those people who aren't going to be around when we pull through .. we didn't want you here anyway.

When you said license, you meant liquor license right?
If thats the case, no club or bar can generate enough funds without selling alcohol in general. Theres no point in running a club if you cant sell alcohol.

Fucking government and public just discriminates against Electronic Music and I can't stand it.
Now that I am thinking about it, I really do think it could have something to do with shutting down the RAVE act =(.

That deal supposedly fell through. Redwood Trust is like a ghost-town nowadays, I assume because of poor management/promotion.

You never know. I doubt that itll be in baltimore cuz thats so far away, but Buzz was in SOUTHEAST DC which is straight up ghetto. Although it was close to the metro, i dont think any place could be any worse than Southeast in the DC area.
