I'm not saying all drug users are stupid in the sense of unintelligence, though a lot of them are, but they are stupid for having to turn to using it in the first place. Just my opinion.

Btw, i never said life was simple.

gonna post the same thing in here that i posted in the chill room thread... since more people need to hear it.

but before i do... jesus christ, dreamdecks.. do you think you could make your signature a little bit longer please??

anyways, here goes:

all you people from the states who are complaining... instead of throwing your hands up in the air and saying "fuck you US govt! im going to move now wahhhh"... why not try to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

fight the RAVE act. there are resources, use them, do something.

2 articles from drcnet.org, the first is informational, the second is about a protest and how it went
http://www.drcnet.org/wol/252.html#raveact
http://www.drcnet.org/wol/254.html#technocapitol

http://www.drugpolicy.org/
^^ large article linked on main page, link to information on how to tell your senators you dont agree with this

http://www.emdef.org/
^^huge article on main page, including protests (already past, looks like some of you could have gone), and news and events that have happened related to it as well as links

http://www.aclu.org/action/rave107.html
^^free fax, speak out against the RAVE act

http://buzzlife.com/buzzdc/page.cfm...s&contest_id=13
^^online petition

once again, there are options. rather than silently shaking a fist at a government that wont see it, or voicing your anger on a message board that the government wont read, go make your voice heard. you have the choice. do it.

I am 18, listen to Trance/Progressive/House and I have never drinken, or done any drugs in my life(nor plan to in the future). I was looking forward to goin to Buzz very soon, but unfortunately, the government decided to be homos and deal with the problem by eradicating it. That takes the fun and rights away from all the people who don't participate in the retarded actions of the few.

What should happen, is instead of just going undercover and saying "hey look, theres some problems here" and then going from that to "we're shutting you down," the government should have made buzz have stricter rules and pat downs and other security(?) measures.

Overall this whole thing is bullshit, and I think it also could be a way to get back at shutting down the RAVE act. Fucking government and public just discriminates against Electronic Music and I can't stand it.

If any type of protest or petition goes up, I'm definitely up for it. We might not be able to reverse the decision, but we could slap them in the face and make them look like asses.

Now that I am thinking about it, I really do think it could have something to do with shutting down the RAVE act =(.

maybe if they wrote patriotic trance tunes, they wouldn't close down the clubs in America

Thumbs down RAVE Act bullshit

Lucky for me one of the main senators trying to pass the RAVE Act is from my home state Shit isn't going to get done in our favor unless we speak out against this rediculous attempt to destroy this great and unique culture (god forbid we don't settle for mainstream shit)
Feel free to e-mail Senator Chuck Grassley with your thoughts: http://grassley.senate.gov/webform.htm

Damn that sucks we dont even have major clubs here. Be happy that there was a Buzz and Twilo. Its bullshit that governments have to destroy places for young people.

In calgary, they implemented a rave bylaw august 2000. It has helped in some ways and other ways it has not. The bylaw was introduced as a way for the government, more specifically the police to keep a handle on people since before then, the government had no idea, or little idea what happens at raves. So anyways, a rave bylaw was implemented to ensure that police, local security and paramedics are on site to keep things safe and regulated. Also the bylaw has to ensure that events must have a good air system and free drinking water available. Also, when you enter the venue, you get pat downs and they look through your belongings and wallet and shoes etc to check for weapons or drugs.

The local security took care of looking out for drug related and premise security

Police took care of violence and people security

Paramedics took care of people who collapse of E or have medical problems etc.

The bylaw on the other hand made ticket prices more expensive and took the fun out of looking for a rave 24hrs for the party and such not.

Overall, its too bad American didnt follow the way calgary did it.

This would definitely have to fall into one of my worst days I had.

Not mainly about Buzz closing, but if this is how our government is going to "battle" the fight on drugs, then it's a shame that we have them lead us. I still can't understand why the government hasn't learn their lesson about the war on drugs. First it was lame scare tatcis, then it was over-exposer (which ended up back firing on them), now it's this.

Buzz closing is a sad day for the Mid-East music scene. Even though it was turning into more of a social gino hangout, it was still a great place together together.

Every day I lose more and more faith in our society. I try to make a difference in my life, but it gets harder to battle stupidity and ingorance.

It's such a tragedy when shit like this happends. The government tried to pull that shit in Ontario, but we fought against them and won. Now, in Toronto...we're getting the best dj's all the time here. If think all of you can change then you all should organize a massive rally in D.C. to see if maybe you can change this. and if not then your all welcomed to move to Toronto
