I've taken a few listens to this and it makes for some awesome music while I code. Favorite tracks are the "Hold On" song, Tkac and Haverlik, and the Miika Kuisma one (that reminds me a ton of Smoky Room). I want to find at least something to pick on, since I know you appreciate constructive criticism, but I can't... :P

So, I've listened to this mix pretty much every day since it was posted, and I have to say I'm having a difficult time finding issues with it. This isn't really a huge surprise though, since more than most people around here, you really "get" prog. How it should be mixed, how to work the tension/release, how to structure the tunes with each other, it always seems to fit together so well in your mixes. I'm sure I've said that to you before, though.

My only complaint is that I would have liked it to be longer, but that's kind of pointless anyway, because it would have resulted in a completely different mix. And keeping it under 80 minutes is obviously advantageous for people burning CDs to listen to while driving, etc.

Honestly though, I'd love to one day hear a 4-5 hour prog mix from you, since I tend to think longer mixes like that are a bit more of a challenge for a DJ. To keep a listener's attention for a long period of time means you really have to work your programming/tension/release, but in a slightly different way, and I'd be interested to see what you'd end up doing with it. It's cool though, I know I won't be getting that mix any time soon... if ever

This is a wicked mix though, mate. Keep 'em coming, even if it is just once a year or whatever.

Edit: I should also mention - Good job with your track-digging, I'd never heard any of those tracks before, though I do recognise a few of the artists.

I don't think you have actually, and that's a really big compliment, especially as you love prog and have been listening to it for a lot longer than I have. Progressive is definitely one of those genres where I can listen to a set, even in a club, and understand why a DJ has played a certain tune at a certain moment, which comes from having listened to so much of it and mixed it for years. There are genres, like techno, where I can love a DJ set but not have any idea what the DJ is doing to make it so good. I genuinely love going through sets I've enjoyed and trying to analyse the transitions, the track selections and so on to figure it all out. I've done that with countless Sasha & Digweed sets, who've obviously been a massive inspiration on how I try and construct sets.

A four hour prog mix would be a big challenge, actually. I've no idea how I'd do that, but maybe I should have a crack. I'd have to re-use a lot of tracks from previous sets, I think.

Ha, I've never heard that track before now but you're right. It's even in exactly the same key and at the same tempo as This Is Where. Sounds like he sampled a short snatch of his own track and filtered it to make a new loop. Good spot.

I found this quite enjoyable. It started a bit twinkly and abruptly, but I love that tribal percussion. From there on out it was just solid dance music, no twinkling bells and bleeps, mcprog baselines or other nuisances. No complaints from my end.

Well this mix was recorded and rendered in the same way as all my other mixes and nobody else has commented on abnormal sound quality, so I would suggest that any issues are at your end.
