PS, you're likely right about the pre-recorded sets, but that doesn't mean it won't be a fun time.
Hahahahahahah...this is hilarious. So it's alright to pay $50-$100 to hear someone put in a 1.5 hour, prerecorded set on a USB stick and press "play", while pulling Jesus poses and flashing little heart signs to the crowd? You have got to be shitting me - this is what it's devolved into?
I can think of at least 20 fun things that fall between "sitting at home picking my ass" and "shelling out hard earned money to hear generic canned music".
They should be more honest with their branding, call it, "Long Weekend Cash Grab", or something like that.
My attendance to GUV wil depend on price and who I will be with.
And the issue is I do want to be with friends, it's hard to convince people not as knowledgeable or caring as much for this genre of music to step outside their boundaries and go see something they normally wouldn't.
that would be a cool cruise! Guy J boat cruise on sunday is the winner though

Regardless, I'm still looking forward to it.
I'm totally in favour of the enthusiasm about an event. Tastes differ and even if I was in TO this lineup wouldn't grab me. But I agree that the Guy J boat party will be a winner. If you can't convince people to take gamble on new music then at the very least you should be able to talk them into Oz's party. Always a blast and the scenery can't be beat.
