do the older virus ti's have the vst thing as well? got the opportunity to get the keyboard version for $1800

Yes, all TIs (TI1/TI2) and the Snow have the Total Integration, which uses the Virus Control plugin for integration with your DAW, or you can use them as standalone synths.
