I was a bit disappointed with Communicate, personally. Though I bought it a few years after its release. What did everyone else think of it?

well i love the 1st cd of communicate. specially because of "west on 27th (a tribe called khz mix)" -> "tyrantanic (slacker kingdom mix)"

I loved it too, I don't think either of them have done anything better since. It reminds me of a time when both my neighbours had moved out, blasting it out from 2 till 4 in the morning.

btw, listening communicate again i have to say: i love how they blend the tracks, except in the peace division remix of roachs. the track sounded too much weird

Thanks SYSTEM-J and others for that insight. 0 degrees North was one of the first ever DJ sets I heard and remains one of my favorites to this date. Crazy how recent this thread went down, because just today I googled "why is silence removed from northern exposure expeditions" (currently enjoying my annual listening of expeditions). For years I had loved the album and it wasn't until early/mid 2000s that I for some reason downloaded the set and shat myself when I heard that mix of silence in the middle... for years I had no clue there was a version with it. I've always wondered why there were versions with & without, but never looked it up; I appreciate the knowledge.

Also appreciate all the other background you all have provided. Been indulging in EDM for 15 years now and still dust these sets off once or twice a year... they remain in the upper echelon of studio sets I've heard. The mixing is outstanding, especially considering this is before the incredible computer assistance they have today. Track selection, progression, energy, etc., true artistry. Thanks all!
