I love posts like these. You don't think those are the first guys promoters are going for?

I am going to bump this post later in the year tho...

This is truly sad

We've all grown up and out, I suppose.

I was lurking, so I thought I'd post, even though I'm also late on this one...

I'm getting older at this point, and don't go out nearly as much as I used to. I honestly wish I could, but my body and bank account just can't handle it anymore. But, I did go to a few great parties this year

GOOD:

As already mentioned a few times in this thread, ELECTRIC ISLAND was the highlight of the minimal amount of partying I did in 2013. I went to the Canada Day edition, and the Labour Day Edition, and they were both fantastic. I'm really looking forward to going again this summer (assuming they're happening again). There's nothing like partying outdoors, surrounded by trees, the lake, and the beautiful Toronto skyline in the distance.

I also saw JAMES ZABIELA @ Moskito, and that was such a fun night. He never disappoints!! I saw people I haven't seen in a long time, and James' set was really, really good. That was the only time I made it to Moskito, but the sound system there was IN-CREDIBLE. Haven't checked out Ryze yet, but have a ticket to see Hernan Cattaneo, so looking forward to checking it out.

The House Addict 10 year anniversary party was also a great night, with MANIK headlining. I love random loft parties like that one. Great mixed crowd, "underground" venue, and the drinks were flowing until very late in the night. All around good party. I didn't think I would be staying out past 3am, but I ended up closing down the party at 5am. That says a lot, because these days I get tired faster, and usually bail really early.

BAD

I don't even really want to get in to the Bad to be honest. I was happy with the parties I chose to attend last year. If the majority of the younger crowd annoys you as much as they annoy me, then it's really just a matter of being picky about what clubs and parties you attend. There are ways to avoid the douchey, neon clad, phone stealing crowd. Deep House parties usually have a more mature crowd, so these days, I try to stick primarily to those.

In 2014 I'm looking forward to checking out Ryze and CODA. And, it seems like there's quite a few parties popping up at Mod Club lately that will be worth checking out as well.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the DJ's and Promoters in this city who continue to push the boundaries of the Electronic Music scene in Toronto, and never fail to bring in amazing international talent, as well as continually supporting our incredible local talent as well.

On a Final Note, it was really sad saying goodbye to Footwork. I have countless memories from nights spent at that club, that will stay with me forever. But, at the same time, it seemed like it was time for the Footwork crew to move on to something new, and different. I wish CODA nothing but success. Can't wait to check it out!

Still raving over Guy J @ Kayama boat party.

I wish I had more time (and money!) to check out variety of different parties. Yeah you get a lot of mainstream stuff, but whatever. Props to Ozmosis for pretty much singlehandedly putting prog and trance back into Toronto scene. I wish I could check out more deep house parties.
