Forget the Steve Porter comment, OP's 'dark prog' gets me confused with early 00's dark Progressive/Brit House.

Title should say Dark Progressive House.

There's this older dark house track which I think originated from NYC, where this guy with a deep guttural voice keeps repeating "Space is the place...I wanna go to space." I wish I remember what it was, it must be one of the darkest and nastiest house tracks on Earth.

I used to actually know what it was, I recently thought Danny Tenaglia remixed it, but I couldn't find anything. I think some other dude from the New York scene might have remixed it, but I'm not certain. That track is sick.

You might want to post it on Discogs, they might know.

Who cares? We all recognise what's being referred to.

hm, but everyone knows that the word "dark" isn't a genre himself, just a characteristic. Is absurd to tag mixes like 'Resolution" (by pappa) dark progressive?

It is a characteristic, but we got folks here saying something about spearheading the dark prog genre, when in fact there is no such thing. It's like asking who began making the first dark techno tracks. Who the hell knows? Every genre has dark tracks. And no, nothing wrong with tagging tracks dark, but soon we'll have people asking who invented the Dark Trance genre.
