Hehe well if I did read my history books right we did put those mines there. I'm sure that S. Korea didn't have the resources to put them in place directly following the Korean war. Also the treaty ban on landmines required the eventual removement of landmines much of which was funded by the UN. If I recall the article I read, the US specifically vetoed the ban to keep those land mines in place. I could be wrong since read about the issue a while ago but I have to wake up early for work tomorrow and dont have time to reaseach haha.
