ANything aimed at a genre usually is ignored right of the bat.

I'm not sure why they keep making synths and always leave out something esential. Every synth always has that one thing missing. I think thats why i gravitate towards reaktor.

Hive is more about workflow than features. Its supposed to be like Sylenth where you can make a good sounding patch for dance music rather quickly. The only tools included are the ones needed for those types of sounds.

I mean how is that so different from a synth like Absynth which is geared towards a certain sound? Yes, Absynth has more possibilities but it is marketed towards a certain sonic palette that it excels at.

Its not like its an instrument dedicated to risers or something like that. It just has a focused feature set and workflow for achieving results quickly for dance, but that doesn't mean it can only be used in it.

I don't really see how its patronizing if its not marketed to you in the first place where a synth like Zebra or Diva is.

The workflow 'thing' is legitimate. The EDM crowd want a certain kind of unison, certain envelope slopes and certain filter types and don't really want to invest the time in learning stuff like Reaktor or even Zebra for that matter. I reckon 75% of people who use these things are tweakers at best and have no real idea how to program even the simplest patch from scratch.

They just want to get on with making the music.

People also want a 64 bit version of Sylenth for Mac but they haven't come up with the goods yet, so U-he made it instead.

If it's marketed right and the right kind of sounds come out of it in Youtube vidoes then people will buy it for sure. I'm not sure they 'get' the market like the Reveal Sound guys did though. They fucking nailed their promo videos.

see this is where you lose me. I can understand saying getting quick sounds that sound like they are dance because to be a dance sound, it has to already be used so by dance, we mean cliche.

the workflow for dance sounds , i mean how different is it for non dance sounds which really are using the same fucking sounds

The percentage of 'noobs having a go' in dance production is exponentially higher than in any other area of making music.

Have sounds used in dance music changed much in the last 15 years? No. Do they know that? No.
