lol, are you listening to me? not the pro version the premium version.

You want comfort and the premium version has less clamp force.

I think you should just wait for massdrop to sale the K7XX again.

I even found you a deal: you can get the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium
at Buysonic for 270$ right now (just select the proper ohm version).

Yes, and for this reason (and Dave recommendation) I'm more leaning toward DT 880 - also on any specific version of those headphones either Pro or Premium, I will decide later (in a few days) after reading a bit more about it lol

Cheers,

Darek

Be Cool!

Ok, just don't read too much...audiophile reviews can make you insane if you read too many.

It probably will be more about know people recommendation (like tranceaddict and others sites) then any web, magazine reviews.

Thanks for your recommendation and suggestion mate.

Just for clarification, I have the 600-ohm DT880 Pros, not the Premiums. When I bought mine years ago, there was no Premium version, just the Pros, and they were available in 32-ohm, 250-ohm, and 600-ohm. Looking at the BD North America website now, it seems that the Pros are only available in 250-ohm version, and the Premiums are available in all three impedances.

My understanding is that the clamp pressure is really the only significant difference between the Pro and Premium versions (aside from different cables/cases). The Pros do fit pretty snugly, as I mentioned earlier, but I don't find them uncomfortable at all. Actually, they're very comfortable and they stay put (unlike my 701s, which are great, but fit too loosely IMO).

Sounds like the only way you could check this out (this pressure of those clamps) is to visit my local Guitar Center store and try them out - thanks for making this point Dave.

I'm slowly closing on selection for my cans replacement and base on your guys help, recommendation and some reviews (+ my visit to local music store) I'm picking DT 770Pro ones - closed back, comfort, sound isolation, clear and pretty flat response and finally is not that expensive - let you know in a few week if I made right choice

Cheers and appreciate all of your guys help (a specially Raphie )

Well, I think (as ex-solo guitar player) I should be able to work with them

Cheers mate,

Personally, my order of preference in the BD line would be:

DT880s (semi-open)
DT990s (open)
DT770 (closed)

I generally think of closed back headphones as being good for tracking and less ideal for mixing. But, the DT770s do seem to get rated pretty highly for mixing. I use the 880s and have used my friend's 990s on many occasions, but never really used the 770s. I'll be interested to hear how you like them.
