I am addicted. I spend usually all my wages on vinyl (after rent and food etc) About 10 records a week. (At about £8 each its a bit expensive )

I usually write a list of the tunes I want to get. The problem is, when I can't get them i will buy more and more to cheer myself up

Also, i do mix CD's for people at work and friends so I suppose I have a reason for buying so many.

Buying vinyl is addictive, I know a lot of people here spin at parties and such like and when they hear a tune in a live set then must have it cos they think it will go down well. Problem is, there is a lot of music being made at the moment. Almost every week you can be sure that something has been released (be it on promo, white label, or officially) that you will like. And when you suddenly find a classic in your record store you have been after for months...it all adds up.

My advice ? Lock yourself in your room. Cut up any credit cards you may have (NO ONLINE SHOPPING FOR YOU!!!:"@!~) and burn any stereos etc that may be able to play music. Its the only way.

Hi my name is Kurai and I'm addicted to buying vinyl

(Crowd) Hi Kurai

Hi everyone! I started to buy more than one year ago, when I started it emptied my bank accounts to buy huge collecitons I got a lot of good stuff, actually selling a little bit of it.

But finally I'm only buying the stuff I'd play often and loud (But there are still too much, damned!)

That "vinyl" currency is also known for me Eating once out of home = 1 vinyl, visiting a club = 3 vinyl. A girl friend = a whole colleciton of vinyl

Just think if the track you are buying is really worth ten dollars or not. Maybe one way of thinking about it is that if instead of spending 10 dollars on being entertained by a movie for two hours, you should only spend money on records that could entartain you just listening to them for two straight hours. There's no worse feeling than leaving a record store and three days later feeling like you wasted your money on a shit track. Unfortunately when you are new and have all the cash discerning a great track from an ok one is a little tough
