These Trump supporters, though, dude...

Actually, this is part of the things we have in common.

Ever heard of "Jair Bolsonaro"? You possibly have, but in case you haven't (and for the benefit of non-Brazilian TA's), he's a horrible person but an incredibly shrewd politician (much like Trump). Originally from a party that belongs to the ruling coalition, he made his career opposing the president as the poster child of the Brazilian far right. Think about it for a second - it's as if Obama's greatest rival was a Democrat and belonged to the opposite extreme of the political spectrum (or if Cameron's arch-nemesis was a UKIP-wannabe Liberal Democrat before last year's elections).

The one difference, however, is that unlike Trump, Bolsonaro belongs to a minor party (thought there's a grass-roots movement trying to propel him all the way to presidency).

Trump reminds me of how JFK took Nixon by surprise in that TV debate.

This is what I've been banging on about in this thread and others; Islam (en masse, not including some of the moderate and incredibly forward thinking muslims that I regard as close friends) is just a few hundred years behind the other religions.

They need to educate and grow up. The good thing is, as much press as the evils of islam gets, as a religion as a whole, it's becoming less and less devout, and just like Christianity and Judaism, is becoming more and more wateredf down.

This is a serious ignorance of Islam in general that seems to have gripped "tolerant" limp wristed leftists all over the world.

1.) Christianity has progressed throughout time in conjunction with liberalization and reforms. Such as the Nicene, First, and Second Vatican Councils.
2.) Islam's progression through time has seen the exact opposite. As time progresses, Islam becomes more Conservative. Not just within its general population, but with the creation of offshoots such as Wahhabism and Salafism.
3.) The recent rise of Radical Islam is a result of education and information warfare. Kanwar Pal Singh Gill, India's foremost authority on counter-terrorism, has said that, in Kashmir, radical Islamists taught their doctrines in madrassas for two decades before the occurrence of any terrorist acts. It is widely accepted that two decades pass between education of the masses and action of the masses, a term by philosopher Jacques Ellul calls "Integration vs. Agitation." Today, we are seeing the results of madrassa teachings which started in the 1990s. Madrassas which teach these ideas have grown exponentially since then, which is a cause for great concern. I think most of us would love to live in a world where liberal social reforms progress with time, but the world doesn't work like this. In 20 years, we will see a generation of Muslim men who have been listening to poison even worse than what we hear from ISIS. These numbers will continue to grow and the threat from Islamic organizations will continue to cost the west both lives and resources.
4.) Islam needs external influence to reform, because they have no intention on reforming themselves. Our favorite "Moderate" Islamic nation (Egypt), when given the chance after their revolution, democratically elected officials in the Muslim Brotherhood. If that is a model of "Moderate", I don't want these people in my country. CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) is widely seen (By entities such as the Department of State and the FBI.) as supporters of Islamic extremist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR is the first organization to hold a press conference after a terrorist attack claiming "Islam is a religion of peace". Muslims have no issue lying to your face. If the West wishes to see reform from even "Moderates", there must be an extensive information warfare campaign against Islam in order to subvert powerful organizations such as CAIR and others who support and are supported by the Muslim Brotherhood.

For instance, all religions had a rule that forbade the mocking (in in islam, one step further, just innocent depiction) of god or his prophet, and it was done because when you draw or worse mock something it loses it's power and gravity.

We had the cartoonish depiction of mohammed in a global publication. That can't be taken back and we've seen more since and we'll continue to. That taboo is now broken and the response will be less and less.

The taboo hasn't been broken. It isn't "taboo" either. From Paris, to Texas, to Afghanistan, there are instances of blasphemy which receive worldwide Muslim butthurt. It is also the policy of many media companies to avoid depictions of Mohamed in an attempt to prevent any backlash from Muslims. The response is less and less because the West has become enablers of the Muslim world who stamp their feet until they get their way.

I'll continue in a little while. But the amount of PLUR bullshit I see in this thread is why people are getting raped and murdered by muslims.

Care to match that theory with the fact that for hundreds of years the Muslims were ages ahead of Christian Europe in terms of science and learning?

A religion cannot do anything, it's an idea. People, however, can interpret that idea in good ways (the university of Baghdad) or in bad ways (this video).

Well, even Buddhists can be bonkers and violent, too... Look at Myranmar the past few years - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22356306

I don't see how this is contradictory. One religion/culture was ahead of another for a while, now the other has caught up and moved past it. I'm not arguing anything close to something denying this. I'm just saying the problem with Islam is that it's not modern enough. What's your point?
