Australia, historically, for instance, has been quick to enter wars that do not immediately concern it (Boer War, WW1, Vietman etc.) and I shudder to think how many Australian lives have been lost fighting someone elses war. Conflicts are not so black-and-white, and it doesn't make sense, much of the time, to pick a side merely to avoid being seen as neutral. |
