i never said there wasn't propaganda in the US, but the "propaganda" over here is FARRRR different from the propaganda in the middle east and even the terrorist groups in the far east...
our propaganda is mostly focusing on OUR country's positivities, patriotism, etc... we are not told that "arabs are evil" (much like how the middle east teaches their residents that "americans are evil".... we do not promote a "jihad", we do not say "go out and kill arabs".... matter of fact, we give the ones here refuge... I have seen some of the propaganda from over there (when i was over there), and you'd be surprised the likeness of their anti-US advertising campaign to hitler's anti-semetic campaign of the 30's and 40's. Their propaganda is designed to teach hatred of ALL americans - even women and children, as they see we are all products of the devil... |
I agree completely. That's the line of thinking I concluded after I started thinking about the issue...
I was never tought to think that arabs are evil, or anyone really. American propaganda is benevolent by nature.
However the arab propaganda, you are completely right... I just dont understand people who complain about American propaganda, it's just telling us to appreciate our freedoms more, whereas arab propaganda is telling arab people to kill us. That and they dont have the freedom of the press, so they are free to play the Joseph Gobbles propaganda hate card at will.
If anyone thinks American propaganda is more dangerous than Arab propaganda their probably already brainwashed by the anti-american propaganda.

personaly, i dont really think any of our opinions are relatively to concrete in the sense that they can be backed up by tons of good evidence. but i think im going to have to agree with jploveparade, yet again, that bastard... hah... what he said about " People need to learn that politics and religion do not match! " i agree with him completely....and in every sect/religion/group im sure there is a bad apple...this has been proven throughout history in various different cultures, across cultures! so its pretty much fact, that human nature is not inherently good or bad, but that there are many factors that are important to an individuals actions to a certain 'thing', such as his upbringing, his invironment, past-circumstances, etc...
maaz >But anyways, HABIB'S does kick ass! i go there all the time to hit the arguillas all the time ..but i only know of like one or two HABIB'S in panama.
peeps> one more note, when i hear an american talking about any subject related to this, usually i dont even want to bother, because i know i might sound kind of like an asshole right now, but if your looking at it from a 3rd person perspective, most of the people i hear from the US who talk about arabs/muslims etc sound kind of ignorant or brainswashed, one of the two... NOT ALL OF YOU !! just most of the ones i have been unfortunate enough to have to sit down and listen to ramble on about whats true and whats not. CNN/BBC all these news stations are not to be taken 100% seriously of course, and you might as well change the channel when it comes to commercials. But anyways, peace.

That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you ,And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no, I've said too much,I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.
But that was just a dream, That was just a dream, But that was just a dream, Try, cry, why try? That was just a dream ,Just a dream, just a dream, Dream
