I dunno, i've been listening to both for several years now and yes a lot of epic trance is predictable and cheesy and yes alot of progressive is slow and boring...I think the best trance tracks are the ones that manage to sit in between the two genres, using fresh current sounds, intricate rhythms and original ideas while still managing to be uplifting and emotive

read my last post a bit more carefully, you will see that i was pointing out something of a linguistic nature, there's one verb that completely changes the meaning of the sentence. (it's between quotation marks and in bold)

again, i don't have any problem with someone not liking prog, on condition they've tried it. it's prejudices that bother me..

Can we all stop thinking our favorite version is the hands down best? The epic trance lovers dont give a shit about the "more complex soundscapes of progressive", and the prog heads dont care about the "intense emmotion" of uplifting

Er...your wrong. I love prog and uplifting. I incorporate both when spinning as well.

Yikes everyone is so passionate about their music... I say don't impose your music on others and like what you like. I have a hard time getting my friends to like trance period haha
