Would like to keep it unlisted, have it a bit more personal; meaningless probably but why not :}

Facebook is fine if your friends list isn't filled with people you met last Saturday and/or people whose class you were in in grade 2.
I wanted to get rid of mine lots of times for the same reasons, but all I had to do was get rid of the people who didn't mean anything to me. Huge improvement.
ya i get that. I do find somethings very useful about facebook that I totally miss. For example my brother just had a baby this week as well and I would have loved to send the pictures to my cousins and my aunt's/uncle's in Italy which I had to do on instagram instead. Also just having the ease of messaging my cousins there and having a tiny keyhole glimpse into their day to day lives was cool to have since we are separated by an ocean. However doing an hours worth of work in an hour frees up so much extra time. Its worth the trade off. I can see myself returning but I'd like to finish up a few projects first.
spotify, udemy, reddit and insta keep me entertained though.

Though day tomorrow, first watching 305 km F1 China followed by watching 258 km cycling Amstel Gold Race.
Hardest part will be walking 2 km to one of the hills just outside my town to see them pass in about 10 seconds or less
Maybe the shopper tv camera catches us again like last year.

I'm learning to get myself to seriously focus, eliminating that background noise in life is fucking key.
Also, I agree on FB being a big time sink...I wrote up a mini rant about it yesterday but decided it was too negative for a Friday and better suited to a future Monday/Tuesday post:
I think it is interesting how Facebook has come to be this massive curator (aka 'gatekeeper') of the types of content that gets attention on one's newsfeed. I'm sure the algorithm is optimized for engagement and keeping you 'interacting' and active on the site for as long as possible but it is a crapshoot in terms of 'quality' content. Desktop browser notifications keep trying to reel in your attention yet putting people on your 'See First' / Close Friends lists and subscribing to certain pages remains your only option to not miss something (potentially) digitally important.
The obvious decline of people posting lengthy status updates has led to this surge of 'Memories / On This Day' sharing of old stuff+ #tbt being posted. I'm guilty of it too on occasion. I get it - what's the point of writing a long ass post if nobody reads it?
Not to mention the defaulted 'auto-play' of video content on non-mobile devices which also counts as a 'view' after only 3 seconds. Hilarious. Throw in the ever challenging task of people with business/community Pages trying to consistently engage/reach their audience (without $$$ 'Boosting' their posts). It is also maddening that if you see a friend's post on your newsfeed and then go to their profile later you likely won't see their post because it defaults to 'POSTS YOU HAVEN'T SEEN' with the '?ref=ts' trailing parameter in the URL. You have to remove that to see everything or scroll past all the havent seen and eventually find what you were looking for. lol. (People bitching about this: http://bit.ly/1VsmBUO)
FB wins big with Events, Messenger, Photos, Ad targetting/drilldown metrics, API features + social logins - an impressive feat but the rest I don't care for. I mean, why is it you can't even 'Search' your own timeline for something specific and instead have to try and remember the exact year/month you posted it so you can hopefully find it that way? (Only TA search is supposed to work that way)
