He's not lying. And he doesn't work for NASA either. He works for some specialist tech company that makes components. Giving a talk at a NASA conference is just another form of niche business conference.
The thing about Nou is that he never outright lied about anything. He would choose careful wording to try and present one thing as another, more impressive thing. That's why I spent a number of threads unpicking his wording, which invariably led to him looking like a complete idiot. Take that "lube thread" that was bumped recently. If you re-read that, the way he denies his own laughably transparent attempt at deception is just cringe-worthy.
It's certainly instructive to see how someone can have enough intelligence in one area to contribute to man's ascent into space, and yet simultaneously be so fuck-dumb in another area that he could have an entire group of people laughing out loud at his attempts to explain himself.

Nou reminds me of a used car salesman. Technically he has a decent job and probably does make good money, it's just that anyone can do that job without any real education or talent. Sort of like yoga instructors and/or personal trainers and real estate agents. Or joining the military.
