BT may not be the best behind the decks, but just see him live behind a few keyboards and synths, he's the 21st centuries answer to the One Man Band.

I've had the pleaseure of speaking to BT personally (although not often), and I can honestly say he's the most kickass guy. He's funny, down to earth, and would never say anything quite like this unless it was explicitly justified...

He's not the sort of person to shit on people without reason...

BT has more funny quotes

BT ON ATB

Brian Transeau (BT) on Music
Totally. I love what guys like Oliver Lieb and Paul Van Dyk do. I hate that ATB and those sorts of people have prostituted this stuff. You listen to an ATB track and then you listen to Sasha, and the difference is as obvious as listening to Led Zeppelin and Rachmaninoff.

Also most people will say Oakenfold is a better dj all around.

BT sees himself as a producer and a performer, not really a DJ. I don't see anyway to compare BT to Oakenfold. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

k, so what if BT can't compare to Oakeys mixes...did u guys read the whole thing? Heh, BT couldn't compare to me if I was dj'ing from a cd and just stood there. And he even mentions the guys responsible for signing DJ's onto Global Underground to call and ask them if its true...hmmm, I wonder why Oakey hasn't done a GU since ummm...007?

umm ok...good to see illogical tempers flaring in here.

1)BT isnt a dj, and never pretended to be. he can mix, but usually doesnt.

2)BT owes *something* to Oakie, as they were nearly joined at the hip for awhile there. BT is the more talented musician, and oakie is the business man.

3)not sure how Ste got Tiesto in on this, but the BT/Tiesto/Oakie thing is like some freaky love triangle that freaks me out and prolly explains a lot of this mess. BT slamming Oakie, Oakie slamming Tiestos remix of SS. Tiesto remaining indifferent and just attempting to sound like Oakie from 2 yrs ago...?

other facts:
-BT *MAKES* music, whereas Oakie commissions others to make his music, its a talent vs. power thing.
-Oakie worked with fucking Crazy Town on possibly the most embarassing (trance) song ever.(who gives a shit about nsuck and miss spears)

my opinion:
-alt Oakies EMs are pretty good, all he did was choose good songs that people sent to him before anyone else. i think all us TAs could do the same with that power/simplistic mixing skill. 98% of BTs *production work* has surpassed all that Oakie spit out in that 2-3yr time span. and his shows are better assuming its a live PA.

This sums it up quite nicely.

BT never said he was a better DJ than Oakie, he simply said the Oakie takes credit for other people's work. Whether that is true or not I don't know for sure, but I've heard some bad rumors about Oakie.

BT is fucking awsome !

As everyone has already said, hes a wicked producer with mass talent. I mean have you seen the man on his key boards. Oh my its amazing. Ive never seen anything like him playing live. And that is better than any person spinning a record ( or CD for that matter ).

I think that BT always wanted to work with Britany Spears cause Okie is the Britany Spears of the dance world. Okie has some talent at what he does ( which is not make music ) just like Britany. He is also the fucking trance pop star. Okie has one thing in his eyes $$ and hes doing a better job at that than he is at music.
Guess BT has just moved on up to the real thing now and has seen what fake Okie is. At least Spears doesnt pretend to be real (aside from her chest and chastity) like some other people.

As far as BT's mixing goes. It may not be the best but his track selection is what he wants to play. Don't you go to see a dj cause you want to hear what they like to play. Not cause they play whats popular. You know what its called when that happens POP MUSIC !
Anyone who thinks that Okie didnt deserve what BT said can crash and burn next time they are driving down the road listening to Casey Casum's top 40 on their radio.

umm...jayd...i love you and all, but you forgot to include the context of when and where that happened. IN A CROWDED ASS AMPHITHEATRE IN HOT ASS MIAMI! right after acosta, oakenfold, cox, crystal method, (assuming you stayed in the main area), RIGHT BEFORE tiesto and PAUL VAN DYK!! OF COURSE I'M GOING TO SIT DOWN DURING MOTHERFUCKING BT!

bt is a better producer.
oakenfold is a better performer. (take that how you will, his djing skills or just his presence)

i personally think its just oakenfold's presence. HE USED TO BE AMAZING! he really knew how to fucking mix, but now, he can't keep up with pvd and the other gods.

my two cents atleast.

Read some music history, you'll see him there.
