Haha, when you said your favourite team made it to the play-offs, I didn't even consider the Rams

It's a Disney story either way. No quarterback has played fewer seasons than Goff and reached a Super Bowl, let alone won. Brady was overlooked until he became the GOAT. And, if you think Giselo is just showing off, the Ram's road to the play-offs this year will always be marred by the no-call against the Saints.

All in all, I just wish the Patriots were playing the Corinthians Steamrollers, and I'd be happy no matter who won

Was that a beautiful game! Just ask my tv. I was yelling and screaming at it the entire game.

Haha, my video feed kept breaking up, so I was often left exasperated trying to figure out what was going on by the audio alone.

I trying to trick my wife into watching the Super Bowl in the cinema with me, because the sheer thought of rooting for the Patriots in a movie theatre in Brazil is just absurd, and I feel optimistic this time

Everyone is making a big fuss about that play but the refs helped the saints for the whole first half

That’s got to be one of the worst calls or no calls I’ve ever seen. The Saints should have won that game but in some ways they brought it on themselves by not running the ball.

Often the right call is the conservative call but often “great” coaches and quarterbacks achilles heel is the need to show off their greatness. By the book they should have called three runs and kicked a field goal, leaving the rams with no timeouts and almost no time. Just like when Seattle passed instead of running Marshawn Lynch at the goal line or Matt Ryan dropping back to pass and was stripped sacked to complete the most monumental collapse of all time. “More games are lost than won”

It's probably because of how the game is structured. That final no-call changed the entire flow of the game in its final moments, much like a penalty in overtime would've done in ordinary football.

Calls that may have swayed one way or the other in the beginning of the match (and that aren't nearly as egregious as that one) don't really have the same impact. That's why even gamblers are giving out refunds, as there's consensus it was not the most likely outcome had the call been made.

I mean, gamblers are stingy by nature. If they're giving refunds, that's pretty extraordinary in every sense of the word

And there's this. None of this would have mattered if they finished the Rams off when they had the chance to.

That's ultimately what to comes down to. Effort doesn't win any points, scoring does.

I hear people moan (and Mourinho was the patron saint of this) all the time about how they were robbed, or how their side was beaten dispute controlling everything/running the game/having all the possession.

The ultimate answer is exactly what you said: Then you should have fucking finished it when you had the chance.

Otherwise THIS HAPPENS

You need to have both the onions and the goods.

Glad I’m not a Saints fan, the no call following last year’s Minnesota Miracle.
