Maybe some fo the old stuff sounds kinda amatuerish now, only because technology has advanced, but listen to a few oldies.

Lost Tribe - Gamemaster sounds pretty darn professional and up to date if you ask me, better than alot of the decent productions out recently (I say decent, not the good/great ones)

Its just a wonder where its all gonna go from here, what new sounds can be created, how much more can the samples evolve before we hit a brick wall and why I have to work morning shifts for this WHOLE week.

theres exception to every rule, on the whole a lot of 99 trance sounds amateurish now. Then again Li Kwan - Point Zero can still easily hold it's own in a trance set, and thats from back in 93

I don't think Trance is any *worse* than it was in 99, it just sounds different now, and change is a good thing last I knew, otherwise you *do* get that stale, repetitive sound that tends to kill scenes in the long run.

I honestly think some of the best Trance stuff ever has come out this year, Sasha's airdrawndagger album is mint all the way, the Malte & Marc de Clarke production is fantastic, and there have been a ton of other quality releases from Cape Town, Armin, Sun Decade, and so on right down the line, really too many to list.

Sure, you have to dig for good stuff, but that's always the case in "underground" based music scenes. I think Trance is doing just fine.

I really like alot of trance that i've heard come out in the last 12 months. Its not the same as it used to be back in 99-00 but its coming into a new era.
With the uprise of progressive and taking over as the number one form of dance music it changes everything. It has influenced every genre, trance included. I see this as a good thing cause it show that it can grow with the times. This means that it will never disappear. Its going to go through its phases. Trance is such a sound on its own that it can never be stomped out. It has become like house now. House has been around forever. Its gone through lots of different stages in its exsistence. Trance will experience the same thing. It will change change and change agian. Just wait. I think that a newer trance sound will come out in the near future and will dominate the dance scene once again.
