Eric Prydz is pretty naff, you know. I know production nerds who used to like trance worship the water he walks on, but he's still fist-pump laser-show fodder, when all is said and done.

I agree prydz can make some dark music but it's still geared toward an EDM crowd ...rather than berghain or where ever the hell Clovis is spinning these days

Not to say it's not quality...it is ....it just has enough synths/build ups/drops to keep a certain crowd entertained
But also legit enough to playback to back with Adam beyer

But not quite sasha and digweed either

I'll agree it's not nuanced minimal IDM, but Axwell is lowest common denominator, and Prydz is on a different level in terms of production whether it be as Pryda or Cirez D.

I get it, it's still big room fodder when all said and done but there is some true genius in terms of production at least with those monikers. There's an art to making simple tracks that work on a dancefloor and Prydz has that down like few others. Pryda/Cirez D sets are probably the only "big room" sets I'd consider seeing these days just because it's not your usual EDM turd.

Axwell's other moniker is one third (and probably joint second least talented) of SHM. Nuff said.
