are you guys being serious???

the new lasers were amazing!!! they came on about 12am (i remember because they made my eyes go weird as i was coming up!) and stayed on through the rest of the night!..

during rank 1's set they were fantastic! i loved the new red/blue colours and some of new effects blew my head off!!!

remember you havn't heard alot of matt's best stuff of late cause you you've been skint!!!

Lol please don't try and tell me I don't know what a Hardwick late set sounds like And I don't know why you're bringing Piu into it coz I'm the first to agree Hardwick is significantly better.

Yes i agree, he does deserve to be up with the big guns. My points are

a) His late sets are very anthemy and predictable
b) His warmups are better

plus c) He's GC's resident. I personally get very bored with seeing the same DJ's every time I go. In my opinion the place for residents is early, warming up for the guest DJ's who appear at peak times. If they're good enough (which I agree Hardwick is) they'll get to play elsewhere in later slots, but the place for a resident in clubs should be warming up for the guests. GC have got lazy by using their residents for peak time slots. When you're paying the sort of money GC charge, for the reputation GC have, you expect them to make an effort with the lineups. Sure a Harwick/Bond B2B is a nice treat, and in the example of the Birthday was very appropriate. But these things should be the exception rather than the rule IMO.

yeah ok good points my chesterfieldian compardree!

i would stil (knowing what i'm going to expect from hardwick) pay the same as any other big name DJ now. I wouldn't before for a resident BUT as matt has proved time and time again that he can deliver, surely he should be given the best times at his resident club?!

ok so gc shouldn't over compensate for his talent by placing him last EVERY month because it would be stupid (and monotomous) but i think matt has excelled in his credentials to be able to play a late set every now and again!

I think he is beyond playing warm up sets these days and maybe (as you say)his tunes may be predictable in places, but alot of the time thats what the people in crasher actually want to hear!

just my opinon though!

Not all the time IMO, every now and then yes but his place is warming up.

I don't think warmup sets are "beyond" anybody. It's just a different style and one that Hardwick is amazing at! There are a huge number of DJ's out there playing at House/Prog clubs at peak time who play the same style. Just that in crasher, it's used to warm up for Trance. Ashley Casselle for instance. When he plays crasher he warms up because that's the kind of music used for a warmup in crasher, but at another club he might have the last slot of the night.

Unfortunatly you're right about what the crasher crowd want. But didn't Gatecrasher make it's name by being original and distinctive? The last few months what has crasher really done that other clubs havn't? Did you see the lineup for Gods last Friday? I'd kill to have a lineup like that at crasher. The main thing crasher has going for it is the crowd, take them away and you've got just another Trance club. Crasher needs to get its arse back in gear and start booking some more original DJ's.

Last weekend was a very good example, Solarstone, Kai Tracid, Rank 1. With Harwick warming up Whether they were liked or not, at least it was something different and interesting. Now do us a favour crasher, don't book any of the DJ's that appeared last night again for a good couple of months and do something original. Oh dear, just seen the Boxing Day / NYE lineups
