There was already a poll in the music related polls section.

It stands at:

Prog 4
Melodic 30
Both 28
Neither 2

I prefer melodic most of the time, but generally have the ability to appreciate both.

see this is a war youll lose anyways - cause its not like there are 2 distinct genres.

some prog feels uplifting without melody

some epic has no melody

some melodic is prog

some uplifting or epic doesnt have that melodic oakey sound...

so people will always bash and flame. unf the only solution is to get people to *actually* critique* work properly, which everyone thinks they can do, and very very few people can do properly - myself included - which is why i try to stay away from these things unless i know what im talking about and its not based intirely in uninformed opinion|

Plus i would jus like to see how many of us 13,000 Ta's listen to epic and how many of us listen to prog. So i cast the first stone, my vote is for epic trance!!!

P.S. some of u may say its pointless or been done but i just want to say i dont give a shit, i wanna know, so if ure to high and mighty for this thread dont post.

dude...u come up with useless shit...and everyone that wants bedrock out...STFU! i cant believe this shit. when someone is a outcast you fucking flame him to death. instead of teaching him...instead you guys insult/ban. wtf is this a monarchy?

and vanfecto...when one has a different musical taste...u dont fucking blash on them...and think like ur superior then others? and STFU...u dont know shit!

and john digweed boring??? stfu!!!

and epic vs prog???
umm...well recently i have listened to prog. mainly because it grab's my soul. and its smooth as hell! the music is more complex and it has fresh tunes. prog has much more diversity then trance. i mean if u see 10 prog djs...ur gonna except 10 different sets...and each 1 will have its own climax. bascially for me...prog takes you through a journey.

epic trance...umm u only see 1 quailty tune every 2 weeks...and every other tune sucks. i mean i dunno all these tunes are sounding the same to me lately. i guess the producers are scared to experiment with trance...so basically we are getting recycled trance. Plus most trance djs just play anthems after anthems...which gets boring fast.

instead of listening to trance...i decided to explore different styles of music. i like techno/tech trance/breaks/prog. i mean they are amazing genre's and everyone should looking to them. another thing is...trance...every fucking dj has the "SAME TRACKLIST" soo its getting really lame these days! i respect djs such as armin, pvd, and tiesto(ur prog like wtf...considering the fact that i heavly bashed on tiesto over the summer). yes tiesto because his style of music is evolving. hes not sticking with trance any more...his style has gone prog and techno. basically its a combination of all genre's into his sets...

I dont understand you folks...when armin spins PROG its the greatest track in the world...when prog djs spin prog its called "zZzzzZZZ".

and this is a useless thread!

i also agree wit amit

im down wit the progressive, and also with the trance. but all these so called trance dj's all hav the same tracklist, just followers, every single one playing Solarstone-Solarcoaster, 4 Strings-Diving, Gouryella-Ligaya. need some variety, learn to appreciate other forms of music. should stop being followers, i keep listenin to dj sets of some of u "pure trance" dj's, and everyone wants to sound like armin, and go out and buy every single record he spins. stop being followers, love electronic music, whether it be progressive, trance, breaks, dnb, ya momma, experimental, or whatever. i myself love progressive house, progressive breaks, progressive trance, breakbeat, drum n bass, and ambient.

and mr amit is right, this thread is pretty useless. we all like what we like, and some songs are good, some songs are bad, but we all dig electronic music.

I'm down with that statement along with amit's. They are saying the samething that is on my mind as well. Dont get me wrong i still like trance, but it is not as fulfilling as it once was. I RARLEY hear originality amongst the producers and dj's. Each mimicing one another, trying follow each other's forumla b/c it made one guy big. I listened to armin's ASOT today, and i was like wow. He was spinning some prog tracks and peopel were sweating them like OMG OMG. Those same people when say i or others had got them to litesn to that SAME track earlier, they said it SUCKED & yes "zzzzzzz". Thats just kind of funny lol. Anyways, you gotta be open to other styles as well. I'm not saying "progressive is the answer" or anything like that, just saying be open.

By the way, those are pretty harsh words to have about PVD, why did you even waste ur time writing about him if you "hate" him so much? Maybe you wanna have his babies? lol. And lets not bash each other man, thats rediculous lol. Are all of you little kids man? wtf, have some respect for each other, especially new people.

Yep, another funny thread lol
